Jerome Weddle

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Jerome served from 2009 to 2023 as an Operations Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, operating across multiple regions of Asia. In this role, he collected intelligence on country-specific, regional, and global issues, including counterterrorism, counter-proliferation, and cyber threats.

Throughout his career, Jerome applied techniques from the Six Channel Analysis in Realtime (SCAnR) system in interviews with foreign intelligence sources, assessing verbal, nonverbal, and behavioral cues to determine credibility and trustworthiness. His expertise in this field helped resolve multiple counterintelligence anomalies and supported fellow officers in resolving anomalies in their own cases.

In addition to operational work, Jerome served as a tradecraft instructor in CIA’s clandestine operations training program, coaching the next generation of intelligence officers.

Today, Jerome is the founder and CEO of Pants on Fire Consulting, LLC, based in Northern Virginia. He offers:

• Deception detection and behavioral analysis training
• Insider threat and intellectual property theft investigations
• Screening of job applicants for trusted positions
• Analysis of video recordings and written communications (such as emails, text messages, and reports) to identify potential indicators of deception and help you make informed decisions
• Jerome can conduct interviews and assess for deception in Mandarin Chinese
