Curriculum
The MSc CBCA degree is awarded on successful completion of the full course syllabus and amounts to 180 credits. There are exit awards built into the programme at 60 credits for a Postgraduate Certificate in CBCA, and 120 credits for a Postgraduate Diploma in CBCA.

As the developer of the groundbreaking multi-channel analysis system (SCAnS), he’s at the forefront of lie and truth detection techniques. Dr. Lansley’s ongoing research aims to revolutionise the understanding of emotional intelligence, making it a framework parallel to IQ.
Prof. Dawn Archer
As a Professor of Pragmatics and Corpus Linguistics, Dawn Archer seeks to ensure that her work has practical applications for those whose roles require them to observe the minutiae of human behaviour; how that behaviour might “pattern” within and across different activity types and cultures; and its potential consequence for effective communication.
Dawn is particularly well known for her investigations recording (changes to) the discursive practices of the English courtroom (1640-present).
Aaron Garner
Aaron has a Masters Degree in Emotions Credibility and Deception and is one of the few people in the world who is highly skilled in Six Channel Analysis – real-time behavioural analysis in real-world applications. As a Professional Trainer, Coach and Public Speaker he has delivered engaging workshops, training, keynotes and talks to a wide range of professionals around the world.
Aaron is programme leader and supervisor for EIA’s MSc in Communication, Behaviour, and Credibility Analysis programme delivered in collaborative partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University. He also designs and delivers EIA Group programmes which are designed to support real-time assessment of truth and deception, as well as increase emotional awareness. He works with the Military/Special Forces, European Intelligence Services, Venture Capitalists, Negotiators, Managers, as well as screeners and airport security personnel in the Middle East and Europe.
Prof. Boris Altemeyer
Boris Altemeyer specialises in statistical analysis and the integration of data insights. His expertise includes machine learning, complex data analytics, and emotional expression analysis. Professor David Keatley
External Examiner
Professor David Keatley is a renowned Professor of Criminology, focusing on complex patterns of criminal behaviour in real-world contexts. Utilizing Behaviour Sequence Analysis and other methods, he analyses the temporal process of crimes, including interrogation analyses. He consults on Missing Persons, clandestine grave recovery, and Winthropping techniques. As a full Vidocq Society Member and Chair of the Post-Presentation Working Group, he collaborates with academics and law enforcement. He is also a member of several task forces and the Director of the international research network Researchers in Behaviour Sequence Analysis (ReBSA) and Forensic Linguistics Analysis Group (FLAG). With a background in Forensic Psychology, he consults globally on current and cold cases, particularly sexual assault, rape, and homicide.
Matt Lynham
Matt Lynham is the Technical Director, leading the team responsible for developing the online systems and Learning Management System (LMS). With a BSc Hons and extensive expertise in technical development, Matt ensures that the online experience for students runs smoothly throughout their studies. Yes! We host masterclass workshops for all students that are enrolled in the programme, these are held multiple times each year and are free to attend! These dates will be sent out to you on enrolment or please email us to find out when they will be running.
Yes! You will be fully enrolled with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), receiving a student card, university email address and access to MMU’s facilities and online resources.
We ask that all recommend that all participants are above the age of 18. Should you or someone you know be interested in the programme and is below the age of 18, please contact us and we’d be happy to discuss some options.

No, the cost is the same for any student.
The tuition fee is fully inclusive for all programme content, materials and support. The only optional additional cost you can expect is if you wish to travel to Manchester for the graduation ceremony once you’ve achieved your MSc.
On successful completion of the full 180 credit MSc, you will be awarded a Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Communication, Behaviour & Credibility Analysis from Manchester Metropolitan University. A level 7 United Kingdom postgraduate academic degree recognised globally.
We aim to be flexible and can accommodate many tailored requests. The key requirement is that an initial payment of £1,250 is made before starting the programme; we can then spread the remaining amount over the duration of the program. Some students like to take advantage of the 10% discount offered for full payment of the tuition fee.
