Measure your emotional intelligence. Then grow it - and teach it.
e-Factor® is an ability-based emotional intelligence assessment: an objective situational judgement test, combined with 360-degree feedback and self-report. Start with your own score, build on it with one-to-one coaching, then become certified to assess others or train them.
“Soft skills”, measured like a hard intelligence.
Most emotional intelligence questionnaires simply ask how good you think you are. e-Factor® doesn’t take your word for it: alongside a self-report and 360-degree feedback, a timed situational judgement test asks you to apply emotional intelligence to realistic scenarios.
The result is an EQ score and a detailed report across 12 abilities in four areas - your strengths, your development areas, and the gap between how you see yourself and how others see you.
- EI defined as the ability to perceive, understand and influence our own and others’ emotions
- Taken online in about an hour, on any device with audio
- One model at every level - from your own score to teaching others
Three perspectives. One score you can trust.
e-Factor® triangulates three sources - the same principle researchers use to have confidence in a result - and weights them by how objective they are.
-
70%
KUSA test
A timed situational judgement test of Knowledge, Understanding, Skill and Application, taking around 40 minutes. To score well you have to apply EI, not just know about it.
-
20%
360-degree feedback
Three to five people who know you well each spend 10–15 minutes rating you, showing how your emotional intelligence lands with others.
-
10%
Self-report
Your own view, in 10–15 minutes. Set against the other two, it reveals your self-awareness - something most EI tools never measure.
Know your EQ. Grow it. Then help others grow theirs.
Everyone starts with the assessment - it’s included in the Certificate. From there, choose what you want to do with emotional intelligence: develop your own, assess others, or teach it.

Common questions
Where should I start?
With the e-Factor® Assessment (£140). It gives you an objective EQ score and a detailed report, and it’s the foundation for every level. If you already know you want coaching, book the Certificate - the assessment is included.
How long does the assessment take?
About an hour of your time: 10–15 minutes for the self-report and around 40 minutes for the KUSA test, which needs audio. You also invite three to five people who know you well to complete a 10–15 minute 360 survey; your score is ready once they’ve responded.
Who sees my results?
Your results are confidential. Only you and your facilitator see your detailed report, and it isn’t shared with anyone else - including your employer - without your explicit consent.
What happens in the Certificate coaching?
After you’ve taken the assessment, your first four-hour session explores your results and co-designs your development plan. You book the second session with your facilitator; it focuses on embedding new skills and setting up your long-term growth. Between sessions, 15–30 minutes of reflection a day is typical.
What’s the difference between an Assessor and a Trainer?
An Assessor administers the e-Factor® assessment, interprets results and gives feedback, with their own platform to sell assessments and manage clients. A Trainer goes further: they teach emotional intelligence with the full e-Factor® training catalogue and design their own development programmes.
Do I need to apply for the Assessor or Trainer programmes?
Both are one-to-one and scheduled around you, and both start with a conversation to make sure the programme fits. The Trainer programme is for experienced trainers, coaches and educators with strong e-Factor® results - get in touch and we’ll talk it through.
Can I use e-Factor® across my team or organisation?
Yes. e-Factor® works for individuals and whole teams, and we can help you plan group assessments and development. Get in touch to discuss your organisation.
Can e-Factor® be used with children?
No. e-Factor® was developed and researched with adults, so we don’t support its use with children or adolescents.
